Installing games with Daemon Tools

Were all new at some point and when we want to play games it can be quite confusing getting them installed and working. This guide will show you how to install your games that are in .iso format in daemon tools and apply the no cd patch or sometimes referred to as a crack.

There are other types of disk image formats but iso is the most popular.
others include .daa and uif. if you encounter these type of files the process remains the same but you will need to use other software like Magicdisc (free) or Poweriso (not free) as Daemon doesn't support these.

Before we begin i recommend always getting Daemon Tools from Daemons home site as it is free. Getting it through a torrent could give you unwanted nasties

Step 1)
once you have Daemon installed right click the daemon icon in your system tray and go to virtual cd/dvd-rom then select the number of drives to be used.


Step 2)
Now you have a virtual drive available. right click the icon again and go to virtual cd/dvd-rom, now you will have a drive there that has been assigned a letter. on the menu that pulls out click mount image, find the iso that needs to be mounted and mount it.


Step 3)
the iso should now load as if you had just inserted a real disc. if it doesn't load, go to my computer and you will see that you have a new drive with the game in. right click the drive and select autoplay.(some discs refuse to autoplay so if this happens open the disc and look for the setup file) Some Games have more than one disk, Should you need to use a second iso when it asks for disk 2 press your windows key(if its a full screen installer) and mount the second iso in the same way you mounted first.


Step 4)
once the install process has been completed you will be eager to start playing your game. however just yet its not quite ready.we need to apply the no cd patch (crack). now go back to my computer and explore the disk


somewhere on the disk there will be a folder, it may be called crack or it may labeled as something else. (sometimes the people who upload the torrent name them after themselves. ie- Devience, vitality are some popular ones) inside this folder there will be an exe icon for launching the game.

Step 5)
right click the desktop shortcut for your game and click properties


you should now be looking at this screen

click find target and it will open the directory folder to where the game was installed.
Now go back to the disk and locate the cracked exe and you need to put the crack into the folder you have just opened with the find target click


Step 6)
you will be warned that you are going to overwrite a file, click yes to replace the file.
Congratulations you have now installed the game and can start to play.

Some torrents will not have a crack supplied with them, if this is the case then visit www.gameburnworld.com and search for a fixed exe on there and follow step 5 and 6 to apply it.
Also if you apply any update patches to the game you will need to find a new crack to match the version you have updated to.
