Smile DVD Ripping & Encoding

Hi all,

With new members joining bit torrent community on a hourly basis i thought this might be of help to them.

DVD Ripping.
------------
Generally a dvd movie is about 4GB in size and transmitting this size will take more time so it is better to convert(rip) them to a file of around 700MB.

In ripping there are three stages

There are a number of dvd ripping software out there, I will use "Any DVD Converter Professional " to illustrate the process step by step.

1.Select the dvd to rip

2.Select the output file's characteristics, the higher the bit rate the larger the output file size will be.

3.Take a long break, the process will take an hour or more so start it when you go to bed or when you prepared to go out for few hours. And be warned the CPU will be running at 100% power all these times.

Create a torrent file and share it with others and help the community grow.

Burning the downloaded movie to DVD.
------------------------------------

We all want to watch the move on TV, this is more convenient so to do this there are two ways,

1. Most of the movies are in xvid format so if you can buy a xvid compatible player you can use Nero or CloneDVD or any dvd writing software to write them in data dvd mode and play them on the DVD Player.

2. Those who are not able to find the above said player need to convert the file into dvd format(.vob) and burn them to disk.

for this I will use Super DVD Creator software.

First select the VOB Converter

Add the required file using the "+" sign and click next,

Here select the video quality by click on the Encode engine, higher the quality longer the time taken to encode. The process will take an hour or more so start it when you go to bed or when you prepared to go out for few hours. And be warned the CPU will be running at 100% power all these times.

If you want to create menus as in commercial dvd use DVDStyler it is good and easy to use.

hope this helps,

dmef

This may not be the proper thread to ask this question, but I can't seem to start a new thread, having search problems so I can't find the proper thread to put this into.

Keep getting this message whenever I search, all types of searches and I have cleared cookies cache :

"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error"

Anyway...when converting a files that has a number of parts to it ( ie. 6 .VSO parts) how do I combine them to create a single video file????? and also how can I remove subtitles. I use CovertXtoDVD 3.0, I prefer this program to some of the others I've tried for it's simplicity.........any help anyone can provide would be IMMENSLEY.....appreciated.......thank you
